The Role of Society in Poverty Alleviation

Prof. Neil Fraser, an esteemed Social Policy Expert from Edinburgh University, Scotland, delivered a guest lecture at The Apollo University in Chittoor on November 7, 2023, on the topic of “The Role of Society in Poverty Alleviation”. During his lecture, Prof. Fraser emphasized the significance of the National Insurance Scheme and drew comparisons between poverty alleviation initiatives in different countries. Notably, he commended India for its rapid economic growth. The programme was interactive, Prof. Sethuramasubbiah and faculty members from various departments, as well as students specializing in Public Health and Clinical Psychology, have actively participated.
