National Service Scheme – Health screening

Volunteers from both Unit 1 and Unit 2 were involved in regulating the queue, scheduling the appointments for the staff, collecting the biography, checking weight, height, and body mass index. Furthermore, our volunteers were arranging and organizing the health screening area. Few volunteers were involved in guiding the non-teaching staff from different areas of the campus to the screening area. Additionally, if any of the staff were found with abnormal parameters, they were guided by volunteers for further intervention. This screening began at 2 pm and concluded by 4.

Celebrating World Anaesthesia Day at The Apollo University

Our World Anaesthesia Day event was organized on 16 October 2023. The event was planned with the theme “Anesthesia and Cancer Care” in association with the University Event Management Club to create knowledge among students about their job roles. NSS ACTIVITY – SHRAMDAAN

NSS volunteers from unit 1 and unit 2 arrived at the old age home around 9.45 am. This is located on Rajiv Gandhi Road, Chittoor. Volunteers were divided into several groups and before the beginning of the cleaning/gardening activity they were introduced to the residents of the old age home. More importantly, they all had a very good interaction with the senior citizens, which was evident from their involvement. A Two-Day Workshop on Web Development

The Apollo University, in collaboration with the Computer Society of India (CSI), organised a comprehensive two-day workshop on web development, held on September 29th and 30th, 2023. Dr. N. Karthik, an esteemed Assistant Professor from NIT Puducherry, served as the workshop's resource person. MARATHON 5K RED RUN

On 13th September 2023, Mr. Thiripal, Program officer of NSS Unit 2 took students of the Apollo University to the Marathon 5K Red Run competition held at Masonical Grounds, Chittoor. The competition was initiated by National AIDS Control Organization and APSACS to create awareness about HIV among youth. About 42 students from the Apollo University took part in the Marathon 5K RED RUN at 5:30 am that got finished at 7:30 am. CSE student of the Apollo university Mr. Sandeep stood in 7th position in the Marathon and won the consolation prize.

Road safety awareness rally

In view of several road accidents taking place in the community, NSS UNIT 2 of The Apollo University organized a rally with the theme of 'Road safety' on 06.07.2023 (Thursday) within the campus. The aim of the program was to sensitize students and all the employees to adhere to the road safety measures to prevent accidents. NSS volunteers (Unit 1 and Unit 2) of The Apollo University took part in the program and marched the length and breadth of the campus delivering some catchphrases on road safety to bring an awareness to the students and public.
Workshop on Data Visualisation and Dashboard Creation

A Workshop on Data Visualisation and Dashboard Creation was conducted by the ‘Department of Health Informatics & Analytics’, The Apollo University, Chittoor on 23rd June 2023. Eminent professors from IIT Tirupati and Monash University, Australia addressed the students about the applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms to the participants. More than 200 students from various intuitions have participated in during the workshop with great enthusiasm to learn about the tools used for Data analysis of large data sets.

The School of Technology (SOT) organized the Inaugural ceremony of the Computer Society of India (CSI) and the Coding Club (CC) on 23 rd June 2023. ALZHEIMER’S AND BRAIN AWARENESS DAY

The Department of Clinical Psychology observed Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Day on 21st June 2023. All the students from B.Sc. Health Psychology and M.Sc. Clinical Psychology participated in the event along with the faculty of The Department of Clinical Psychology Dr Vandana Kaja and Dr Haseena Shaik and Dr Kabilan Annadurai from The Department of Health Informatics. To observe the day, we all kept purple ribbons which is also the symbol for Alzheimer’s Awareness.
International Yoga Day

The Apollo University celebrated international yoga day on 21/06/2023. Students from various disciplines participated in the event including volunteers from NSS Unit 1 and Unit 2. It was conducted at the Central library hall. Everybody including the University registrar participated in mass demonstration and performed different Yoga asanas. The program started at 6:00 am early in the morning. The Yoga master taught some yoga asanas and few students Projected virtual yoga asanas. The Apollo University registrar-prof. The program ended at 7:20 am.
Extempore Program

The extempore event was organized on April 15th. NSS volunteers from unit 1 and Unit 2 have attended the event. Dr. Sethuraman Subbiah (The controller of exams), Ms. Andrea Mallya (English instructor) and Dr. Shahanaz (Assistant professor of Management studies) of The Apollo University were the judges of this extempore event. The topics that were chosen for the extempore were road safety, eve teasing, gender discrimination, drug addiction, mental health, bio-wars, global terrorism, swatch Bharath and girl child education.
World Blood Donor Day

World Blood Donation Day aims to raise awareness about the constant need for safe and sufficient blood supplies in healthcare systems worldwide. It highlights the importance of voluntary blood donation, emphasizing that donating blood is a selfless act that has the power to make a profound difference in the lives of others. On this significant day, the NSS units have organized a blood donation camp within the university premises on June 14th for which the district collector was invited as chief guest.
Organ donation Awareness Program

Organ donation awareness event was scheduled on 8th May 8, 2023, both Unit 1 & 2 NSS volunteers were present. Dr. B.G Ranganath professor and head of the department of Community Medicine, Apollo institute of medical sciences and research was invited to share his knowledge on organ donation with NSS volunteers. Ms. Saranaya was the master of ceremony, and she welcomed the guest speaker, and others seated in the lecture gallery. Later she introduced Dr. Ranganath to all the participants.
Psychology for You – Anxiety and Depression Awareness Exhibition at TAU

The Department of Clinical Psychology organized a three-day exhibition starting from 04th May to 6th May 2023 titled as “Psychology for You” and themed as Anxiety and Depression Awareness. Seminar on Autism Spectrum Disorder Day at The Apollo University

The Apollo University recently held a seminar on Autism Spectrum Disorder, presented by the esteemed speaker, Dr. Bhaskar Naidu. The event was attended by a diverse group of professionals, including Dr. Vandana Kaja from Clinical Psychology, Dr. Kabilan from Public Health, and Dr. G B Hima Bindu and Dr. Manju from the CSE department. Dr. Naidu commenced the seminar with an insightful overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder, highlighting its impact on individuals and the various signs and symptoms associated with the condition.
Inauguration of Literary Club at The Apollo University

On March 31, 2023, the Apollo University held a Reading and Literary Club event featuring Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vinod Bhatt. The event aimed to promote the habit of reading among students and highlight the impact of books on one's life. During the event, Dr. Bhatt emphasized the importance of reading and how it has transformed his life. He shared his personal experience and encouraged students to make reading a habit. On account of World TB day, The NSS units of the Apollo University organized a guest talk on Tuberculosis on 24/03/2023. Dr. K R John, Professor Emeritus, Apollo Institute of Medical Science and Research, Chittor, Dr. Sharmila, District TB officer, Chittoor and Dr. Kabilan, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health, Apollo University, chittoor were invited as guest lecturers. The resource person created awareness of TB & they explained the efforts required to end global epidemic. The session provided an opportunity to educate students on improved TB prevention.
MoU Signed between TAU and ESIGELEC, Rouen, France for masters programme in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems

The Apollo University , Chittoor and ESIGELEC, Rouen, France signed an MoU to explore the possibility of starting a dual degree masters programme in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. Dr H Vinod Bhat, the Vice Chancellor of TAU expressed his intention of initiating the programme in the academic year 2023 - 24. ESIGELEC, which is a 100 year old institution has world class facilities, extensive network of industry partners in the Normandie region and rich experience of offering such dual degree programmes over more than 15 years with Universities across the world .

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of The Apollo University has organized a two-day workshop on 18.03.2023 on Artificial Intelligence and Computer Human Technology. The workshop was conducted by an expert Dr. Srikanth Prabhu, MIT, Manipal. While inaugurating the workshop Prof., Potharaju Malasani , Registrar said that the University is now offering 28 programs in different faculties such as Technology, Mangement, Health Sceinces and Social Sciences. On March 8 th, 2023, The Apollo University, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, celebrated International Women's Day with a variety of events and activities that highlighted the achievements and challenges faced by women around the world. On the auspicious occasion of Founders' Day, which is on 2/4/2023, NSS Units of the Apollo University taken a heartfelt initiative to give back to society and make a positive impact on the lives of others. The program was meticulously planned, ensuring a seamless and safe donation process. We collaborated with local blood banks and medical professionals who provided their expertise and guidance throughout the event. Republic Day Celebration- 2023

On January 26, 2023, the students and faculty members of The Apollo University gathered together to celebrate the 74th Republic Day of India. The event was organized to promote national unity and patriotism among the students. Flag Hoisting Ceremony The event began with a flag hoisting ceremony, where the Indian national flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest, followed by the national anthem. The students and faculty members paid their respects to the flag and observed a moment of silence for the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

CLEAN AND GREEN PROGRAM BY NSS VOLUNTEERS

Hon’ble Vice chancellor Dr Vinod Bhat inaugurated NSS units of Apollo University on 09th January 2023 at Apollo University, Chittoor. He said as a University , we have a responsibility of conducting outreach programs for the benefit of surrounding community. He also said that among all the clubs which we have right now in the campus, NSS is very important functionary which can create a difference in others lives.
Clean & Green on Inauguration Day

The inauguration ceremony of NSS units 1 and 2 of Apollo University took place in Lecture Hall 2 at 2.00 pm on 09th January 2023 at Apollo University . NSS Programme Coordinator, Dr. Shahanaz and NSS Program Officer, Mr. Ashok PM Reddy welcomed the guest gathering. Honorable Vice Chancellor of the Apollo University Prof. H. Vinod Bhat graced the event as chief guest and the respected Registrar Prof. Pothuraju was the guest of honor. Both of them along with Dr. Sunil, Dean of Technology inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

The Apollo University, Chittoor,celebrates Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on 15th November 2022 in memory of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the great unsung hero of Indian Independence. The University observed Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas in honour of Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary and his contribution to national development. Prof. Alfred Augustine, Dean, Apollo Medical College, recalled the contributions of Birsa Munda, who started the freedom struggle at the age of 20 years. He inspired all the students to draw lessons from his life, as they are also of the same age group.

The Apollo University, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, celebrated National Education Day on 11th November 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Education Minister of independent India, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad. While inaugurating the event, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of TAU, Prof. H. Vinod Bhat, said, “Azad had a profound impact on many sectors of life, especially in the field of education.” He reiterated the role played by Azad in sensitizing the people of India to the importance of higher education.
MoU Signed between UNSW, Sydney and The Apollo University

The Apollo University has signed a broad MoU with UNSW, Sydney, Australia for faculty & student exchange and research collaboration in engineering, health sciences, public health & Healthcare management. UNSW is ranked 19th by QS World University Rankings 2024.
Workshop on Data Visualisation and Dashboard
A Workshop on Data Visualisation and Dashboard Creation was conducted by the ‘Department of Health Informatics & Analytics’, The Apollo University, Chittoor on 23rd June 2023. Eminent professors from IIT Tirupati and Monash University, Australia addressed the students about the applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms to the participants. More than 200 students from various intuitions have participated in during the workshop with great enthusiasm to learn about the tools used for Data analysis of large data sets.
