Center for Community Engagement

The Center for Community Engagement at Apollo University plays a pivotal role in fostering student involvement for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). By providing a platform for students to actively engage with local communities, the center cultivates a sense of social responsibility and contributes to addressing key challenges outlined in the SDGs. Through collaborative initiatives, Apollo University empowers its students to make meaningful contributions towards building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
The Centre for Community Engagement has organized the following activities:
Swachh Sarvekshana 2023: Around 1300 students of MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, BPT, B.Tech, B.Sc Allied Health Sciences, B.Sc Health Sciences,  and M.Sc program students were involved to be part in the survey between 25th to 30th July 2023. The students have initiated to make the other citizens also to participate in the survey. The Center actively worked in collaboration with Chittoor Municipal Corporation (CMC).
Number of Students participated : 1300
Jagananna Arogya Suraksha (JAS) is a flagship program in the State of Andhra Pradesh to have a health screening, in collaboration with Chittoor Municipal Corporation (CMC) Center for Community Engagement has supported Nursing and Allied Health Sciences students for the health screening from 16th September to 5th October 2023.

National Achievement Survey (NAS) and State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS) 2023: Orientation was given to 80 B.Tech students by the District Education Department Officials and the students were made to be part of the survey in  35 Schools of Chittoor Mandal on 03rd November 2023.

Flood Relief Activities 2024: The Center for Community Engagement (CCE), in collaboration with the Social Responsibility Club and NSS, organized a material collection drive, gathering contributions such as first aid kits, used clothes, footwear, snacks, toiletries, used books, and bags. Over 1500 students, staff, and faculty members generously donated items during the seven-day drive held from 23rd to 30th September 2024.
On 3rd and 4th October 2024, in coordination with the Department of Public Health, CCE carried the collected materials to Vijayawada, where they were distributed to over 100 flood-affected families with the support of UNICEF, SARDS NGO, and GUIDE NGO. Additionally, Master of Public Health students engaged with the AP State Disaster Management Authorities, GoAP and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), GoAP, learning firsthand about the services provided by the government and other agencies in the flood-affected areas.

National Youth Day 2024: National Community Engagement Academic Network (Contributed, Supported and Implemented by Wundavalli Foundation) Today’s Youth for Yesteryear’s Youth Workshop (Community Engagement with Elderly People) was actively participated by the NSS Volunteers of The Apollo University on National Youth Day–12th January 2024.
Major Objectives:
  • Getting the College Youth across India involved in Community Engagement with Senior Citizens.
  • To build inter generational family bond through engagement activities of College Student youth across India.
  • To acknowledge and owe our present to the contribution made by past generations with gratitude.

Activities performed:
  • Interaction with elders at home
  • Meet and greet elders at community level
  • Meeting elders at Elders home
  • Peer influence (among Youth)
  • Promote reels in social media
Number NSS Volunteers engaged: 44 Volunteers of Unit 2 No. of elders interacted  covered: around 115
ASER 2024: World’s largest Education Survey conducted in Rural India by Pratham Foundation, NSS Volunteers of Unit 1 and Unit 2 have actively participated in the survey, during the study, the volunteers were trained on the questioner at the campus and the volunteers have collected the data by interacting with the rural students, parents and teachers during January 2025 at Chittoor District.

  • Number of Gram Panchayats covered: 30
