ALZHEIMER’S AND BRAIN AWARENESS DAY

The Department of Clinical Psychology observed Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Day on 21st June 2023. All the students from B.Sc. Health Psychology and M.Sc. Clinical Psychology participated in the event along with the faculty of The Department of Clinical Psychology Dr Vandana Kaja and Dr Haseena Shaik and Dr Kabilan Annadurai from The Department of Health Informatics. To observe the day, we all kept purple ribbons which is also the symbol for Alzheimer’s Awareness. The event started with a presentation by Tejeswani, a student of M.Sc. Clinical Psychology on Alzheimer’s diseases, what is it, what is the prevalence and incidence rate of the disease, the signs and symptoms, the treatment and psychotherapy. Following which screening of an award-winning short film titled as “A Forgotten Life” by Matt Komo was done. The faculty members concluded the event by discussing necessary points about the disease which students must know as being from a healthcare. It was a very informative and illuminating event.
