Awareness Sessions on Essential Skills for Tomorrow’s Job Market
On September 2, 2024, The Apollo University, Chittoor, in collaboration with NASSCOM Future Skills Prime, hosted a series of impactful awareness sessions led by Mr. B. Praveen Kumar, Ph.D., Regional Lead – Academic & Government Relations, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, IT-ITeS Sector Skill Council, NASSCOM. The sessions began with a crucial interaction between Mr. Praveen Kumar and the University Registrar, underscoring the significance of these discussions for both students and faculty.
The first session, attended by approximately 110 third-year CSE and CSE-AIDS students, highlighted the importance of NASSCOM courses in boosting employability through industry-relevant skills. Mr. Praveen Kumar emphasized the necessity of maintaining an active LinkedIn profile, which can facilitate direct recruitment by showcasing updated skill sets.
In the second session, about 85 Allied Health Sciences students learned about the growing relevance of AI in healthcare and the importance of careful social media use, as online activities increasingly impact professional profiles.
The third session, tailored for second-year students, reinforced the importance of early career planning and continuous skill development. Finally, a faculty interaction session stressed the need for an incubation center at the university to foster innovation and encouraged faculty to utilize NASSCOM resources to stay aligned with industry advancements.
