| Objective of the Activity | To Provide a concise overview of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and its permanent seats. Summarize the historical reasons behind the establishment of permanent seats and the countries that hold them. Explain the current roles and influence of the permanent members in global politics and security. |
| Outcome | A debate was held with 7 student delegates representing different nations arguing why their country deserved a permanent seat and veto power on the UN Security Council. The students well-prepared and did extensive research on their nation’s military capabilities, economic influence, political stability, cultural significance, history of peacekeeping efforts, and ability to tackle 21st century security threats like terrorism, climate change, and cybersecurity.
