Overview
The Central Library is the hub of the information services in the university. It serves as a creative and innovative partner in supporting the teaching, learning, and research activities. With a fast-growing collection, both in digital and print format using state-of-the-art facilities, currently the Central Library has more than 14084 books and subscription to more than 115 national and international journals/magazines in print format besides a larger number of e-journals through DELNET. Subscription of International Journals of IEEE (ASPP), are also available to the academic community. We endeavor to further improve all our efforts to facilitate the right information to the right user at the right time.
The central library is located in a separate building with modern and creative infrastructure that facilitate a reciting ambience. The location of the central library has an overlook of beautiful landscape with lush green plants and variety of flowers. The pleasant ambience and the well-furnished location with amble lighting create an atmosphere of serenity to inspire the learning and research environment.
An extensive collection of books
The library houses the best books published by renowned national & international publishers. Therefore, students from all domains can find valuable books in the library to enrich their knowledge.
Comfort
Taking into account the convenience of the students, the centralized library is designed in such a fashion that our students love to spend their maximum time here. It’s fully air-conditioned, and the ergonomically designed furniture makes it an ideal place for in-depth study.
Ambience
The centralized library at TAU is a paradise for studious wards. The library staff is amiable and leaves no stone unturned in ensuring a peaceful ambience to create a rich learning environment for the students.

The library spreads on 2400 sq.mt. in a centrally air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi enabled area under CCTV surveillance. The total seating capacity of the library is 350. It has three reading halls, one reference-cum-periodical section, three discussion rooms, one digital library with 40 computers as major constituents of the library infrastructure.

Access to library for students with special needs
Apollo does not discriminate the students with disabilities and ensures that they have the facilities to get equal access to library resources. The students with disabilities are provided extra care and support to access the library facilities through various methods. They are provided with remote access, extended reserve period and late fine waiver. Books and other e-content are sent by mail to these students for learning. The library provides volunteer readers for the visually impaired students and Sign Language Interpreters’ for hearing impaired students.

General Rules & Regulation
- 1. Strict and absolute silence should be maintained in the library.
- 2. Bags, heavy handbags, raincoat, jerkin and casual wears are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Using mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.
- 4. The library follows an open-access mechanism
- 5. Wearing ID cards is compulsory inside the library premises.
- 6. Members are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the library. However, they are advised not to leave cell phones, purse, money, credit cards and other valuables in the handbag outside the library. These items are liable to be lost and the management is not responsible for any lost items.
- 7. Library users are strictly prohibited from taking the borrowed and stamped books inside the library.
- 8. Users should not bring personal printed materials into the library for study purposes.
- 9. Any kind of markings, underlines, or the act of clipping the books is absolutely forbidden. Readers will be responsible for any damages done to the books in the library and should replace the book or pay the value of the book once damaged.
- 10. Under special circumstances, the University librarian may refuse to issue of books or recall the books already issued from any member without assigning any reason.
- 11. The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of books issued against his / her original (or) duplicate ID Card.
- 12. Reference books, newspapers, magazines, journals should not be taken out of the library. However, overnight issue is available for selected reference books.
- 13. The library may accept donation of manuscripts, books, periodicals etc. from the donors. Such donations once accepted will become the absolute property of the University library.
- 14. The members can keep their personal belongings at the property counter at their own risk.
- 15. The members are advised to maintain a strict discipline and decorum in the library, i.e., (a) to behave decently, (b) to be properly dressed, (c) do not disturb other readers, (d) do not eat, chew, etc. inside the library.
- 16. The library documents already issued to a member are allowed inside the library only for return/renewal.
- 17. The library materials should not be defaced, marked, cut, mutilate, or damage in any way. No member is allowed to damage the library properties, i.e., print and digital resources, books, furniture, computers, and printers, etc. If any member is found involved in such acts, he/she will be punished as per the University norms and losses will be recovered from him/her as per the guidelines.
- 18. The library has a sufficient seating capacity but not equal to students’ strength. The seats in the library can be occupied on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 19. The University librarian has the right to recall any issued document at any time to meet an urgent requirement.
- 20. Photocopying of any restricted document is not allowed. However, a member can get a photocopy of other documents as per TAU norms.
- 21. The library encourages its members to extend their valuable inputs for the development of the library. They may drop their suggestions, feedbacks, or comments in the library suggestion box placed at the library entrance.
- 22. All faculty members are requested to clear their library account by the end of the respective semesters.
- 23. The library will conduct user’s awareness/orientation programmes to optimum use of the information resources and services time-to-time.
- 24. A computer facility has been provided in the library for accessing library resources or academic content only. The personal laptop or any other gadget can also be used but only for accessing library resources or academic activities. Any usage other than academic and research activities is strictly prohibited inside the library. Accessing, viewing, downloading or sharing any malefice/objectionable content will lead to the termination of library membership along with a disciplinary action against the responsible person.
- 25. The “No Dues Certificate” will be issued only after returning all the library dues, documents, and other items, if any.
- 26. The members are advised to switch off the fans and lights after its use.
- 27. Library staff will inform the students 15 minutes before the closure of the section. The staff will also provide a reminder 5 minutes before the closing time. Users will have to vacate the section before the closing time.
- 28. The rules and regulations are subject to revision/change from time to time without assigning any reason thereof and the librarian has the right to take any decision/change rules and regulations in the interest of the library or the University.

Borrowing Privileges +

- Borrowing privileges are given to the staff members, scholars, post-graduates and under graduate students.
- One book for a student is issued to a period of ten days and three books are issued for the faculties for a semester.
- The textbooks can be renewed once after ten days, i.e., a student can keep the textbook for a maximum period of twenty days and after that it cannot be renewed any further. However it can be renewed, if there is no demand as on date.
- Books will not be issued to members on the ID card of others.
- If the due date falls on a holiday for the library, the next working day will be considered as the due date.
- The issued books must be renewed on or before the due date. The renewal of the book is not automatic. The book should be presented at the circulation counter for renewal.
- If any book is lost or damaged or found with marks beyond repair, the book shall be replaced with a new copy or a pay which is double the cost of the recent price along with handling charges as may be decided by the librarian.
- Fine will be collected @ Rs 5/- per day after the due date.
