TAU and IIT Tirupati Enter into Strategic Academic Partnership

The Apollo University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Tirupati on 21st February, 2026 to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. The MoU was formally exchanged between Dr. K. N. Satyanarayana, Director, IIT Tirupati, and Prof. M. Potharaju, Registrar, The Apollo University.
The exchange took place in the presence of Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Hon’ble Chancellor, The Apollo University and Founder Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group; Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited; Dr. Ravi Raju Tatapudi, Pro-Chancellor, TAU; Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, TAU; Mr. Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, CEO, Apollo Knowledge; and Dr. K. Prabhakar, Distinguished Professor, The Apollo University.
The MoU outlines clear areas of collaboration. Both institutions will work together on academic and research activities in areas of mutual interest. Faculty members will collaborate on research projects and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The agreement also provides for seed grants with financial support from both IIT Tirupati and The Apollo University. These grants will encourage innovative research ideas and early-stage projects. Internship opportunities will be offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Students will gain exposure to research environments and practical applications. This will help them develop technical skills and industry readiness.
The institutions will jointly organize seminars, symposia, conferences, workshops, and other academic meetings. These events will create platforms for discussion, idea exchange, and academic growth. Faculty members will also be encouraged to submit joint research proposals to bilateral agencies and funding bodies. This will increase opportunities for funded research and collaborative projects.
The MoU also allows the use of research facilities at both institutions, and will enable access to advanced laboratories and technical infrastructure. This collaboration strengthens academic ties between The Apollo University and IIT Tirupati. It opens new avenues for research, innovation, student engagement, and faculty development. The partnership is expected to support long-term academic growth and practical learning opportunities for both institutions.
