Apollo a Global Leader in Healthcare Services and Technology: Dr. Prathap C. Reddy

Chittoor, February 21: The Apollo University held its grand 2nd Convocation Ceremony, on Saturday evening at the Apollo Knowledge City campus in Murakambattu, Chittoor, amidst academic pride, ceremonial splendour and enthusiastic participation of graduating students.
The programme was presided over by The Apollo University Chancellor Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, with IIT Tirupati Director Dr. K.N. Satyanarayana attending as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Chancellor Dr. Prathap C. Reddy advised students to utilize the knowledge they have gained for the service of society. He stated that Apollo, which began 43 years ago with primary healthcare services, has today emerged as a global leader in healthcare services, technology and medical outcomes. He noted that The Apollo University in Chittoor has achieved incredible progress within just three years, introducing new courses and earning national recognitions.
He emphasized that education integrated with technology focusing on Artificial Intelligence, research and strong values would pave the way for the future. Apollo has performed lakhs of cardiac surgeries worldwide, establishing itself as a leader in the field, and is guiding the nation in cancer treatment through advanced Proton Therapy technology, he added.
Chief Guest Dr. K.N. Satyanarayana advised students to face future challenges by combining continuous learning, technological expertise and ethical values. He appreciated the contributions of Dr. Prathap C. Reddy in transforming Apollo into a globally recognized institution. He also noted the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and technology in the healthcare sector. He announced that an MoU has been signed between IIT Tirupati and Apollo University to promote collaborative research initiatives.
University Vice-Chancellor Dr. H. Vinod Bhat highlighted the annual report achievements, research milestones and international collaborations. Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited Dr. Preetha Reddy stressed the need for skilled leadership in education and healthcare sectors, while Managing Director Dr. Suneeta Reddy encouraged youth to move forward with a strong sense of social responsibility.
During the ceremony, degrees were awarded to 204 students from the various streams of the School of Health Sciences, Management and Technology. The prestigious Chancellor’s Gold Medal is conferred upon Sawant Hemangi Santosh from M.Sc HIA, Batch : 2023 - 2024 , Branch : M.Sc. Health Informatics and Analytics for her outstanding academic and overall performance, and the graduates took the oath as part of the convocation proceedings. Rank Holders was made in recognition of academic distinction and outstanding performance across various programs.
Ms. Avni Pratap from M.Sc. Clinical Psychology (2023–2024) andMs. Killada Sowjanya from B.Sc. Anaesthesiology & Operation Theatre Technology (2021–2022) was recognized for securing a top rank in their program. It was further announced that two students from the MBA – Hospital and Healthcare Management program (2023–2024) had jointly secured the rank positions. Ms. Kannan Sreevasumathi and Ms. Nisha M were acknowledged for their shared academic distinction and consistent performance.
