A Day of Glory, Grit, and Grace: AKC Sports and Cultural Day
The Apollo Knowledge City came alive on April 5, 2025, as students, faculty, and staff gathered for the much-anticipated Sports and Cultural Day Celebrations. The event was graced by Vice Chancellor Dr. H. Vinod Bhat and Registrar Dr. M. Potharaju, along with Dean AIMSR, Dr. Alfred J Augustine, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Naresh Kumar Reddy, Deans of the Faculties of TAU, and other esteemed delegates. Their presence set the tone for a vibrant celebration, marking the climax of weeks of sporting excellence and cultural expression.
The stage lit up with 11 captivating cultural performances, blending traditional, western, and fusion art forms. The highlight of the evening was a powerful production titled “India in Motion”, where nearly 40 students showcased the rich dance heritage of India—from Bharatanatyam and Kathakali to Bihu and Garba—in a stunning half-hour tribute to the country’s unity in diversity. A special faculty folk dance added charm and solidarity to the evening.
This grand celebration not only honored athletic and artistic achievements but also highlighted the inclusive and spirited culture of Apollo Knowledge City. The event also celebrated sportsmanship, with medals and certificates awarded to students and staff who demonstrated exemplary skill and spirit during the sports competitions.
