TAU Collaborates with Tata Elxsi to Prepare Students Sharpen Their Job Readiness 15th March 2025 Chittoor

The Directorate of Training and Placements at The Apollo University, in collaboration with Tata Elxsi, successfully organized a Mock Interview Program for Pre-Final Year students of the School of Technology (SOT). This initiative, part of Tata Elxsi’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at preparing students for real-world hiring processes through one-on-one mock interview sessions with industry experts.
The event was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, in the presence of Dr. D. Jagadeesan, Dean, School of Technology, faculty members, and senior representatives from Tata Elxsi. The classrooms was transformed into an interactive corporate interview space, where students engaged in personalized interview experiences with seasoned professionals from the industry.
In his address, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. H. Vinod Bhat emphasized the crucial role of soft skills training in shaping a successful career. He highlighted that learning is a journey where setbacks serve as steppingstones to success. Encouraging students to continuously upskill themselves, he stressed the importance of appearing for multiple interviews, thereby increasing their chances of securing multiple job offers and having the power to choose their ideal career path. He lauded the Mock Interview Program as a mirror for self-evaluation, enabling students to refine their skills, identify areas for improvement, and emerge as stronger, more confident candidates in the competitive job market.
A total of 102 students participated in the program, undergoing individual technical and HR assessments conducted by 10 technical experts and 2 HR professionals from Tata Elxsi. Each student faced an industry-standard interview, gaining first-hand exposure to corporate expectations and recruitment methodologies. The technical experts evaluated students based on problem-solving skills, domain knowledge, and application of concepts, while the HR professionals focused on communication skills, confidence, and resume presentation.
The initiative provided students with constructive feedback, helping them identify areas of improvement and align their skills with industry demands. Students were also guided on bridging knowledge gaps, improving interview strategies, and enhancing their professional readiness.
Mr. Naveen Majunath, National Lead – Technical Hiring at Tata Elxsi, emphasized the importance of humility and continuous learning in professional growth. He highlighted Tata Group’s commitment to education and skill development through its CSR initiatives, ensuring students are well-prepared for future challenges. He encouraged participants to value the efforts of the university to conduct such mock interviews as confidence provider for self-improvement, refine their technical and interpersonal skills, and to crack multiple interviews.
