A Tribute to Mentors and Visionaries – Teachers’ Day 2025 Observed at The Apollo University
The Apollo University, under the gracious banner of the Event Management Club of the Directorate of Student Affairs, reverberated with warmth, gratitude, and festivity on September 5, 2025, as the fraternity gathered in the Dr. PCRKC Auditorium to honor the guiding lights of education on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. With the theme “Aacharya Devo Bhava”, the celebration stood as a radiant expression of love and reverence towards the noble profession of teaching, transforming the day into a memorable festival of joy and respect. The program commenced with a cordial welcome by the Master of Ceremonies, who beautifully set the tone for the afternoon by highlighting the significance of Teachers’ Day and the eternal role of educators in shaping generations. This was followed by an emotive audio-visual presentation created by the students, filled with heartfelt wishes, nostalgic moments, and creative tributes that left many teachers smiling warmly, their eyes glistening with pride and affection. A solemn moment unfolded as dignitaries and faculty gathered for the floral tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the legendary scholar, teacher, and former President of India, whose birthday is commemorated as Teachers’ Day. This act of homage filled the atmosphere with a sense of gratitude, linking the present celebration with the rich legacy of Indian education and its values. The celebration then ascended to its most inspiring juncture with the address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat. With his characteristic eloquence and vision, Dr. Bhat described teaching as both a duty and a privilege, urging faculty to continue not just imparting knowledge but also inspiring dreams and nurturing character. His words beautifully reminded everyone that education is not confined to books but blossoms in the values, curiosity, and creativity that teachers instill in their students. His stirring speech was met with heartfelt applause, echoing the shared pride of the academic community. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, in his address, spoke about Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a multifaceted personality who rose to the highest position in the country as the President of India. He highlighted how Dr. Radhakrishnan deeply valued education and dedicated his life to upholding its dignity and purpose, making him an eternal source of inspiration for teachers and students alike. Following the Vice Chancellor’s address, the program shifted to lighter and joyous moments with the cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing celebration, unity, and gratitude. Teachers and students gathered around with cheer, capturing memories that radiated the spirit of togetherness. The atmosphere was soon filled with laughter and enthusiasm as the game segment for dignitaries—“Toss and Triumph”—brought forth a delightful glimpse of the leaders’ playful spirit. It was a moment where the academic dignitaries shed formality and joined in camaraderie, much to the delight of students and colleagues. The Teachers’ Day celebrations at The Apollo University were made truly memorable with the constant support and guidance of Registrar, Prof. M. Potharaju. His encouragement and involvement ensured the smooth coordination of events and motivated everyone to contribute their best. The program’s success stands as a reflection of his leadership and commitment to encourage a culture of respect for teachers. The merriment continued with interactive games for the teachers, designed to bring fun and relaxation to the mentors who dedicate themselves tirelessly to their students. Special appreciation was extended to the Event Management Club, and the Faculty Coordinator Ms. Anwesha Paul whose meticulous planning and creativity made the event a grand success. The day was blessed with the presence of Dr. Alfred J Augustine, Dean, AIMSR, Prof. Dr. K. Bhaskar Reddy, Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Apollo Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dr. Ramaiah Itumalla, Dean of the School of Management, and Dr. G B Hima Bindu In-charge Dean, SoT.
