Students Step into the Future with Young Leaders Dialogue at The Apollo University

On 27th September 2025, The Apollo University Leadership Club, organized an impactful awareness session titled “Viksit Bharat Quiz 2026” and “Build Young Leaders India 2047” as part of the Government of India’s Young Leaders Dialogue initiative. The event aimed to cultivate civic awareness, leadership skills, and strategic thinking among students in alignment with India’s developmental vision for 2047. The session was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, The Apollo University who delivered the inaugural address highlighting the transformative role of youth in nation-building. Prof. M. Potharaju served as Guest of Honour, while Shri. Pradeep Kumar, District Youth Officer, Chittoor, shared insights into the government’s leadership initiatives and encouraged students to engage with policy and governance.
The Chief Guest, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of The Apollo University, delivered an inspiring inaugural address. He spoke about the transformative potential of youth in shaping India’s future and urged students to embrace innovation, ethics, and inclusivity in their leadership journeys. His words resonated deeply with the audience, setting a tone of purpose and pride.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor highlighted India’s remarkable journey from an underdeveloped nation at the time of independence to a developing country today, emphasizing the broader vision of achieving developed nation status by 2047, on India’s 100th Independence Day. He noted that growth is measured not just by infrastructure but by the quality of life and social indicators that reflect meaningful development. With over 1,200 universities today, compared to just 21 at independence, India’s youth population holds immense potential to drive leadership and progress. Regarding the Quiz, the VC emphasized that it should focus on knowledge acquisition and learning rather than competition or prizes, aligning with the vision of fostering informed, responsible, and proactive citizens.
The organizer, Dr. Ramaiah Itumalla, Dean, School of Management and Faculty Coordinator of the Leadership Club, provided an overview of the session on ethical leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strategic visioning. His opening remarks emphasized the importance of nurturing leadership qualities among students and aligning academic pursuits with national priorities. The presence of Prof. M. Potharaju, Registrar, at the event served as a strong motivation for students and faculty alike. His active participation and encouragement talked about the importance of student-led initiatives, and personal responsibility, inspiring the university community to take ownership of national mission and contribute meaningfully as leaders of the nation.
A quiz competition titled “Viksit Bharat Quiz 2026” was introduced to the students to assess students’ awareness of national priorities, sustainability goals, and leadership principles. The event witnessed active participation from students across disciplines, representations from different clubs with enthusiasts who are ready to take the quiz. The initiative was as part of the academic engagement with national development goals, thereby contributing meaningfully to the Viksit Bharat vision.
