Eco Club Members Discover the Wonders of Nature in an Inspiring Wildlife Session at TAU

The Apollo University’s Eco Club welcomed its students and faculty to an enchanting journey into the world of nature with the presentation “Eco-Inspire: Nature and Wildlife.” The venue, came alive with eager faces, awaiting a session that promised both knowledge and inspiration.
The event was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The highlight of the day was the presentation by Mr. Ishan Shanavas, a 22-year-old herpetologist, author, and passionate nature enthusiast. With his degree in Environmental Studies, his youthful energy and deep connection with the wilderness captivated the audience from the very beginning. Speaking with humility yet overflowing with passion, Ishan painted vivid pictures of his experiences in the wild—tracking snakes through dense undergrowth, facing the wild, listening to the symphonies of frogs on misty nights, and observing the delicate rhythms of ecosystems that often go unnoticed.
His stories were not merely scientific but touching. He urged the students to shed fear and look at reptiles and other creatures as vital protectors of ecological balance. Every anecdote carried a message—that every organism, however small, has a role in the grand cycle of life, and respecting this interdependence is the first step toward true sustainability.
The students were enthralled, leaning into every word with curiosity and excitement. They laughed at his youthful humor, marveled at his daring encounters, and eagerly engaged with him in a lively Q&A session. His responses, blending practical wisdom with personal insights, inspired many to think of nature not as something distant, but as a living presence around them, waiting to be understood and protected. Dr. Alfred J. Augustine, Dean of AIMSR, played a pivotal role in bringing Mr. Ishan Shanavas to the campus, convinced that his youthful energy and love for wildlife would ignite curiosity and inspiration among our students.
The session ended with gratitude expressed to the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean Aimsr, and Eco Club, TAU for his encouragement and to Mr. Ishan Shanavas for igniting a spark of wonder within the students. As the gathering dispersed, there lingered a quiet resolve in the air—a promise to see the world with fresh eyes, to respect its creatures, and to carry forward the message of harmony with the natural world.
The Eco-Inspire session will be remembered as a day when the wild spoke through the voice of a young explorer, leaving every listener with both awe and a sense of responsibility.
