Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Conducted for 67 Participants Nationwide
The Department of Psychology, School of Health Sciences, The Apollo University, successfully conducted a Two-Day National Workshop on “The Advanced Level of Clinical Hypnotherapy” on 13th and 14th October 2025. The workshop commenced with an inaugural session graced by the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, as the Chief Guest, setting the tone for the proceedings for 2 days.
The session was further enriched by the presence of distinguished resource person Prof. S. Kadhiravan, Member - Syndicate, Dean - Social Science & Senior Professor, Department of Psychology, Periyar University, Salem (Resource Person). The Senior Professor of Department of Psychology, Dr. Bhaskar Naidu Sandra, Dr. SethuramaSubbiah, Controller of Examinations, Prof. Bhaskar Reddy, Dean, School of Health Sciences, Dr. D Jagadeeshan, Dean, School of Technology and Prof. Ramayya Itumalla, Dean, School of Management, also attended the inaugural ceremony.
The Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, who served as the Chief Guest of the event delivered a compelling address on the scientific relevance of hypnotherapy in promoting mental well-being. He emphasized its role in instilling confidence, managing anxiety, and preparing patients psychologically for medical procedures, underscoring its growing importance in both psychological and medical domains.
The workshop drew 67 participants from across the country, including students, scholars, and professionals in psychology and allied health sciences, reflecting a strong national interest in advanced therapeutic practices. The two-day program was thoughtfully structured to offer a comprehensive blend of theory and practice, enabling participants to deepen their understanding and refine their skills in clinical hypnotherapy. The workshop offered an in-depth exploration of advanced clinical hypnotherapy techniques.
Day 1 began with a recap of hypnotherapy fundamentals and progressed into sessions on Hypnotic Modalities, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and Age Regression, accompanied by hands-on practice rounds that allowed participants to apply techniques under expert guidance. Day 2 focused on Erikson’s Theory of Development, Body Syndrome, and Emotional Empowerment Techniques, providing participants with further opportunities to refine their practical skills and integrate theoretical insights into clinical practice.
The sessions were highly interactive, combining lectures, demonstrations, and practice exercises, ensuring participants gained confidence in employing advanced hypnotherapy techniques effectively. The workshop concluded with a Valedictory Function, alongside the departmental faculty and participants, celebrating the successful completion of the program. The event strengthened participants’ understanding of clinical hypnotherapy and triggered enthusiasm and professional growth in the field of psychology.
