MBBS First-Year Students–Parents Meet Held at AIMSR

Chittoor: Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (AIMSR), Chittoor, successfully conducted a meeting for first-year MBBS students and their parents on Friday, aimed at strengthening academic support and parent–institution engagement. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Ramya Ramakrishnan, Associate Dean, who highlighted that first-year MBBS students, though young in age, are exposed to one of the most demanding and rigorous academic programs. She stated that at Apollo Medical College, experienced and dedicated faculty members play a crucial role in helping students build strong academic foundations and professional competencies. She emphasized that parental responsibility in a student’s journey never truly ends and noted that teachers serve as “second parents,” guiding students academically and personally. She also pointed out that the first year of MBBS involves an intensive and tightly structured curriculum, and the institution is committed to providing a supportive learning environment to help students adapt successfully. The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss students’ academic progress, clinical exposure, future educational pathways, and opportunities for research participation. Dr. Ramakrishnan explained that the mentor–mentee system at AIMSR helps address both academic and personal challenges faced by students and plays a vital role in boosting their confidence and overall development. The program was attended by Dr. Usha Adiga, Associate Dean (Research), Dr. Ramya, Head of Physiology, Dr. Teresa Rani, Head of Anatomy, Dr. Shravana Deepti, along with other faculty members, parents, and students. During the interactive session, faculty addressed parents’ queries and provided guidance on students’ future career planning in the medical field.
