Click Capture Create: World Photography Day Celebrated at The Apollo University

The Apollo University donned a radiant hue of creativity and imagination on 19th August 2025, as its vibrant corridors echoed with the spirit of artistry, storytelling, and visual splendor in honor of World Photography Day. Organized by the Photography Club of TAU, the celebration extended as an exquisite confluence of passion, perspective, and expressions through the lens.

The morning session commenced at G05, Dr. PCRKC Block, where students and faculty alike immersed themselves in an array of thoughtfully curated events that celebrated photography in its myriad forms.

• Photo Walk & Mobile Photography Contest: Participants strolled across the campus, their phones transforming into windows of wonder, capturing fleeting moments of beauty. Each click was not just an image, but a frozen heartbeat of time.

• Photo Treasure Hunt: With clues as their compass, students went on an adventurous journey, chasing the unseen details and overlooked corners of the campus, discovering hidden stories waiting to be framed.

• Storytelling through Three Photos: A test of imagination, creativity, and narrative depth – participants spread out tales with the power of just three frames, proving that a picture is not merely worth a thousand words, but can also weave an entire world.

• Live Portrait Challenge: Brushes of light replaced brushes of paint as photographers captured raw emotions and candid expressions of their peers in real-time portrait artistry.

• Photo Editing Showdown: Here, creativity met technology. Participants demonstrated their flair for enhancing images, proving that artistry continues even after the shutter clicks.

• Vintage Camera Display: The exhibition of classic cameras transported participants to the golden age of photography, evoking nostalgia and admiration for the pioneers of this timeless art.

The afternoon unfolded into the most awaited segment: a special online session titled “My Experience and Learning in Photography.”

In an inspiring address, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, The Apollo University, emphasized the transformative power of photography as both an art form and a medium of knowledge. The Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of the Photography Club for curating such a diverse and engaging set of activities, and congratulated the participants for showcasing their talent and originality by distributing the prizes to the winners. The seamless organization, the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty, and the visionary guidance of the Photography Club Faculty Coordinator and Faculty, School of Health Sciences, Dr. M. Jeevan Kumar, ensured that this day would remain etched in the collective memory of the university as a vibrant day of artistry and passion.
