From Orientation to Aspiration: Registrar Maps the Journey Ahead for TAU Freshers

As part of the Adhyay 2025 Induction Programme held on 6th August 2025, Prof. M. Potharaju, Registrar of The Apollo University, delivered an perceptive and comprehensive address that served as a guiding light for the newly admitted students of the Class of 2025–26.

In a session that felt less like a formal briefing and more like a roadmap to success, the Registrar took the students on a journey—from A to Z—through the vibrant academic life and institutional philosophy of The Apollo University (TAU). His address was not merely informative but deeply motivational, sparking curiosity, clarity, and a sense of purpose in the students.

Beginning with an introduction to the academic systems in place at TAU, Prof. Potharaju offered a clear overview of the curriculum structure, evaluation methods, academic milestones, and the various support mechanisms designed to help students thrive. From understanding credit systems, examination patterns, attendance policies, to academic integrity, students were equipped with a strong foundation to begin their academic journey with confidence and clarity.

He then moved beyond academics, shedding light on the co-curricular and extra-curricular landscape of the university. Clubs, events, student forums, sports, and cultural platforms—every opportunity was presented not just as an activity, but as a channel for self-discovery, talent expression, and overall personality development. The Registrar emphasized that growth at TAU isn’t confined to classrooms—it flourishes in inter-departmental collaborations, inter-institutional exchanges, and active student-led engagements.

Prof. Potharaju also introduced students to the administrative ecosystem that powers the university. From the Office of Student Affairs to the Training & Placement Cell, from the Library to the IT Support, students were made aware of the infrastructure and services available to support their academic and personal growth. He encouraged students to reach out, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning experience, reminding them that the institution is committed to helping them grow—if they are committed to exploring it.

He spoke passionately about the importance of acquiring skills beyond the syllabus—communication, time management, problem-solving, and leadership. The Registrar noted that TAU’s aim is not just to produce graduates, but future-ready professionals and responsible citizens, equipped to lead in their fields and serve society. He stressed the value of interpersonal skills, self-discipline, administrative understanding, and the ability to work in diverse teams, as crucial tools in their toolkit for success.

Importantly, he aligned his address with the larger aspirations of the university—to become a globally recognized institution that nurtures innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and service-driven leadership. He called upon students to be active contributors to this vision, not just recipients of education.

Closing his address, Prof. Potharaju left the students with a powerful message: “This campus is your platform. Every system, every club, every corner is an opportunity waiting to be explored. Make these years count—not just in grades, but in growth.”

The Registrar’s session was a compelling start to the induction journey—one that helped students see the big picture of life at TAU and inspired them to make the most of every opportunity the university has to offer.
