Kabaddi is an outdoor team sport that requires stamina, mental and physical skills, extraordinary reflexes, and exceptional eye-hand-leg coordination. The ancient Indian sport of Kabaddi also takes centre stage at The Apollo University, Hyderabad. With a formidable team of talented players, the university has a rich history of success in various inter and intra-university tournaments. Kabaddi is an indigenous game, a combative and contact sport native to the Indian subcontinent, where it originated during the Vedic period (between 1500 BC and 500 BC). There are accounts of Gautama Buddha and Lord Krishna having played an ancient form of the sport.
