Dr. Iliyas Ali Shaik, Gold Medalist in M.A. English from Yogi Vemana University, holds a Ph.D. from VIT with specialization in English Language Teaching (ELT) and Diaspora Studies. He is certified by the British Council and Cambridge University Press, reflecting adherence to international pedagogical and assessment standards. He is a distinguished Assistant Professor of English at The Apollo University, with over a decade of experience in ELT, communication skills, and literature-based pedagogy. His teaching philosophy integrates language, literature, and technology to enhance learners’ communicative competence, and critical thinking. He also serves as an Adjunct Faculty (Soft Skills Trainer) at Yogi Vemana University, contributing to student employability and professional development initiatives.

Over the course of his academic career in reputed technical and higher education institutions across Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Iliyas has held key academic leadership and administrative roles, including Head of the Department of Humanities and Sciences (SVCEK), Soft Skills Trainer (MITS), Examination In-Charge, and Boys’ Hostel Coordinator at The Apollo University. Currently, Dr. Iliyas serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Apollo Knowledge City Newsletter, where he leads editorial strategy, content curation, and publication quality. In this role, he promotes academic visibility, interdisciplinary engagement, and effective institutional communication, strengthening the university’s knowledge dissemination and outreach.

His research interests include English Language Teaching (ELT), Indian and Diaspora Literature, Arab American Literature, Film and Media Studies, Digital Humanities, and Indian Literature. He is currently guiding one Ph.D. research scholar (Part-time) in Digital Humanities. Dr. Iliyas’s scholarly publications appear in UGC CARE–listed, Scopus-indexed, Web of Science (WoS), IEEE, and other internationally peer-reviewed journals. He is also the author and co-author of academic books such as Business Communication, Indian Literature, and the works of Toni Morrison. In the domain of English language and digital humanities innovation, he has been granted five design patents. His academic service further includes serving as an External Board of Studies (BoS) Member in English at Sri Sai Institute of Technology, Rayachoty, contributing to curriculum design, syllabus revision, and outcome-based education practices.

A committed academic contributor, Dr. Iliyas actively participates in national and international conferences as a session chair, technical programme committee member, reviewer, and presenter. He has served as a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals and as a question paper setter and evaluator for state government universities and autonomous colleges, reflecting the trust placed in his academic expertise and assessment standards.

As an academic leader, educator, researcher, editor, innovator, and mentor, Dr. Iliyas Ali Shaik continues to make meaningful contributions to teaching, research, evaluation, and academic leadership in higher education at both national and international levels.
