The Directorate of Training and Placements Organizes Orientation on Google Generative AI (GenAI) 50-Hour Free Training Program

The Directorate of Training & Placement, in association with the School of Technology, The Apollo University, successfully organized an Orientation Session on the Google Generative AI (GenAI) 50-Hour Free Training Program on 28 July 2026 at the Dr. PCRKC Auditorium. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 218 students from various programmes of the School of Technology, reflecting the growing interest among students in emerging technologies and Artificial Intelligence. The orientation was designed to introduce students to Google's 50-hour Generative AI training initiative, providing them with an understanding of the programme structure, learning modules, certification process, and the expanding career opportunities in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The initiative aimed to empower students with future-ready digital skills and encourage them to enhance their employability through industry-recognized AI training.

The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, The Apollo University, as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Alfred J. Augustine, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), and Shri S. Anil Kumar, Registrar, as the Guests of Honour. The technical sessions were conducted by Dr. M. Punitha, Lead – Strategic Alliances, CareerTiQ, and Mr. Prince Samuel, General Manager, CareerTiQ, who introduced students to the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI and its transformative impact across industries. The speakers explained the fundamentals of Generative AI, its applications in software development, healthcare, education, business, content creation, research, and automation, while also providing a detailed overview of the Google GenAI training roadmap, hands-on learning approach, certification benefits, and industry expectations from aspiring AI professionals. Students also gained perceptions into the growing demand for AI skills and the importance of continuous upskilling to remain competitive in the global job market.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar emphasized that Generative AI is revolutionizing every sector, including education, healthcare, research, manufacturing, and industry, making AI literacy an essential competency for the next generation of professionals. He encouraged students to make the best use of the free Google Generative AI training programme to strengthen their technical capabilities and prepare themselves for emerging career opportunities. Stressing that Artificial Intelligence should complement rather than replace human intelligence, he urged students to harness AI as a tool for innovation, creativity, problem-solving, and informed decision-making. The Vice Chancellor also highlighted the importance of ethical AI practices, responsible technology adoption, and lifelong learning, encouraging students to remain adaptable in an increasingly technology-driven world and to contribute meaningfully to society through innovation.

The orientation concluded with an engaging interactive question-and-answer session, during which students actively interacted with the resource persons to clarify their queries regarding the course curriculum, learning platform, certification process, project-based learning, career pathways, and industry expectations. The experts also shared practical guidance on building AI competencies, developing professional portfolios, and leveraging AI certifications to enhance career prospects. The session significantly enhanced students' awareness of Generative AI technologies, inspired them to embrace continuous learning, and motivated them to enrol in the Google GenAI training programme. Al Prof. (Dr.) D. Jagadeesan, Dean, School of Technology, and Dr. G. B. Hima Bindu, Program Coordinator, encouraged students to leverage the opportunity to build future-ready AI competencies. The programme was coordinated by Dr. D. Gopi Bhushan, Director – Training & Placement, Dr. C. Pakkiraiah, Coordinator and Assistant Professor, School of Technology, and Mr. Mohammed Imran, Assistant Director – Training & Placement.
