MLT DAY CELEBRATION 2025 EVENT REPORT

The MLT Day Celebration was held on 9th April 2025 at The Apollo University under the theme “Lab Saves Lives.” The programme began with a warm welcome by the Master of Ceremonies, Ms Shubhasmitha P, a 2nd-year B.Sc. MLT student. The event was officially introduced by the Programme Coordinator, Ms Denika Fernandes, Assistant Professor, AHS, SOHS, The Apollo University, followed by Ms K. Nabila (2nd-year B.Sc. MLT), who emphasised the relevance of the theme and the critical role of laboratory professionals in healthcare.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr H. Vinod Bhat, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the contributions of Medical Laboratory Technicians to patient care and diagnostics. He also discussed the growing demand and future opportunities for lab professionals both in India and abroad. Importantly, he announced that The Apollo University plans to introduce master’s programmes in MLT starting in the academic year 2026, aligning with the university’s vision for academic growth and professional excellence.
The inaugural session concluded by 10:00 AM, followed by a prize distribution ceremony for winners of the MLT-themed quiz competition conducted earlier by the Quiz Club, The Apollo University.
Thereafter, the resource persons conducted technical sessions, which were insightful and thought-provoking and contributed significantly to the students’ academic and professional knowledge.
The programme concluded by 1:00 PM with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Heamchandar, Lecturer, AHS, SOHS, The Apollo University.
