Awareness Session on Shakti APP – Empowering Girls and Women for a Brighter Future

Inspector Maheswar and Sub-Inspector Nagasowjanya from the Mahila Police Station, Chittoor, conducted a special session at The Apollo University in Chittoor on 19.03.2025 at 02.30 PM in Lecture Hall 4, aiming to raise awareness about the Shakthi app. This initiative was jointly organized by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the Apollo Women Empowerment Cell (AWEC).
The session focused on educating students and faculty members about the features and benefits of the Shakthi app, which is designed to provide a safe and secure environment for women. The app offers various services, including emergency assistance and support.
Approximately 200 girl students from various disciplines, including MBBS, Nursing, B.Tech, and Sciences, actively participated in the session. Their enthusiastic engagement and participation demonstrated their keen interest in learning more about the Shakthi app and its role in promoting women’s safety and empowerment.
The ICC and AWEC have been actively working towards promoting women’s empowerment and safety on campus. This special session is part of their ongoing efforts to create awareness and promote the use of technology for women’s safety.
Inspector Maheswar and Sub-Inspector Nagasowjanya’s expertise and insights added significant value to the session, and their presence helped reinforce the importance of women’s safety and empowerment.
