Apollo University Celebrated the 2nd Sports & Cultural Day–2026

Apollo Knowledge City “2nd Sports and Cultural Day–2026” was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the campus in Chittoor on April 10, 2026. The event marked the grand culmination of two weeks of inter-collegiate sports competitions and served as a vibrant platform to showcase the talent, creativity, and unity of students. The campus was filled with energy and excitement as students actively participated in various sporting and athletics events such as cricket, volleyball, badminton, football etc, demonstrating strong sports spirit, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout the competitions.
The prize distribution ceremony was an important highlight of the event, where winners of various sports competitions were felicitated with prizes and certificates in recognition of their dedication and achievements. The efforts of all participants were appreciated by the dignitaries who commended their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the competitions. The spirit of healthy competition and mutual encouragement among students contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The cultural segment of the celebration added a dynamic and colorful dimension to the event. Students presented a wide range of performances, including classical and contemporary dance routines, drama, themed skits, and a fashion show, all of which highlighted their creativity, confidence, and stage presence. Performances that carried meaningful social messages were particularly appreciated by the audience, making the event not only entertaining but also thought-provoking. The blend of sports and cultural activities created a festive atmosphere across the campus, reflecting the holistic development approach of the institution.
H. Vinod Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of the university, attended the event as the chief guest and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he emphasized that participation is more important than winning and encouraged students to actively engage in extracurricular activities alongside academics. He appreciated the noticeable improvement in students’ performances compared to previous years and acknowledged their achievements in inter-university competitions. His address motivated students to continue striving for excellence while maintaining discipline and team spirit.
The programme also witnessed the presence of several distinguished dignitaries and university officials, including Registrar Professor M. Potharaju, Additional Registrar Mr. Anil Kumar S., AIMSR Dean, Dr. Alfred J. Augustine, Unit Head, S. Balaraj, Deans of The Apollo University, Professor K. Bhaskar Reddy, Dr. D. Jagadeesh, Dr. D Shehanaz Principal, Physiotherapy, Dr. V Kiran, Programme chief coordinator Professor S. Murali Krishna, Co-Chairperson Dr. Sravana Deepthi, Deputy Director, Student Affairs, and Dr. Shani S S, AD, Student Affairs along with faculty members and a large number of students. Their presence and active participation added significance to the occasion and encouraged the winners, participants and performers.
The cultural performances were meticulously curated and artistically presented under the dedicated leadership of Mr. V. Daniel, Assistant Professor, School of Health Sciences and Faculty Supervisor of the Arts and Cultural Club, whose guidance ensured a cohesive and engaging programme, along with Ms. Bhagyashree Mishra, Assistant Professor, School of Health Sciences and Faculty Coordinator of the Dance Club, whose efforts in mentoring and coordinating student performers contributed significantly to the grace, creativity, and overall success of the cultural segment. The successful conduct of the AKC Sports and Cultural Day–2026 was greatly supported by Dr. Keerthana Thankachan, Assistant Director, Directorate of International Affairs and Press and Publications, who oversaw the agenda and execution of the event, alongside Ms. Anwesha Paul, Assistant Professor, School of Health Sciences and Faculty Coordinator of the Event Management Club, who handled the prize distribution and event arrangements with professionalism. The planning and coordination of the event management team ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the proceedings. The institutions also expressed its sincere appreciation to the Physical Education Assistant Directors, Mr. Dilip Kumar and Ms. Sumalatha P, for their dedicated efforts in organizing and conducting all the sports competitions in a highly professional and efficient manner, which contributed significantly to the smooth and successful execution of the events.
Overall, the “2nd Sports and Cultural Day–2026” was a grand success, celebrating teamwork, discipline, and unity among students and institutions in AKC Campus. The event reinforced the importance of a balanced educational environment that nurtures both physical and creative abilities, leaving participants and attendees with lasting memories and a renewed sense of motivation.
