The Postgraduate Diploma in Biostatistics (PGDBS) is a one-year advanced program designed to equip students with expertise in Biostatistical methods, data management and statistical computing. The curriculum focuses on the application of statistical techniques in clinical trials, Epidemiological research and healthcare analytics, preparing students for careers in healthcare, academia and government sectors.


PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

  • Provide students with a strong foundation in Biostatistical methods for data analysis and decision-making in Public Health.
  • Develop skills in data management, statistical inference and Epidemiological research.
  • Equip students with expertise in using statistical software like Jamovi, R and SPSS.
  • Enhance students’ ability to design, analyze and interpret health studies.
  • Foster ethical research practices in biostatistics, machine learning and health informatics.

Comprehensive Curriculum: Covers topics such as survival analysis, regression modeling, clinical trials and systematic reviews.
Hands-on Training: Practical exposure to data analysis, machine learning and Public health informatics.
Software Proficiency: Training in Jamovi, R, SPSS and SAS.
Industry-Relevant Skills: Application of Biostatistical techniques in Public Health, clinical research and epidemiology.
Capstone Project/Dissertation: A research-based dissertation with viva voce assessment.

Admissions are conducted in two modes:

  1. Convener Quota: As per the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities Act, through the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  2. University Quota: Based on the TAU entrance exam or recognized national-level exams.
