THE APOLLO UNIVERSITY, CHITTOOR NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2024
The Apollo Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AIPS), The Apollo University Organized 63rd National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from 18th November 2024 to 23rd November 2024, on the theme: Think Health, Think Pharmacy. This programme is instigated with an inaugural session on 18th November 2024 at 3.00 PM in AIPS Classroom by Prof.K. Bhaskar Reddy, Dean AIPS and School of Health Sciences.
Every Year, National Pharmacy Week is observed in the third week of November to recognize and acknowledge the vital role played by pharmacists in the healthcare setting. Inview of this, we conducted a week-long activity to pharmacy students i.e., Oral Presentation, Pharma Quiz, Essay Writing and Pharma Models.
Today on 23rd November 2024, we curtain down this programme with a valedictory which was presided over by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. H. Vinod Bhat and Chief Guest Dr.Manthan Janodia, Registrar, Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad. This event was graced by Prof.K. Bhaskar Reddy – Dean, AIPS & SoHS, Dr.P.Madhav – Head, Division of Allied Health Sciences, Dr.Siva Chandra Raju, HoD, Department of Pharmacology, AIMSR, Chittoor, Dr. R. Satyanarayana- HoD, Biomedical Sciences, Dr.Haseena Shaik and Dr.A.Kabilan Programme Coordinators of Psychology and Public Health respectively accompanied by faculty of AIPS. During this event Prof. Bhat delivered valedictory address and emphasized the 7 critical roles of pharmacists and he calls pharmacists as real caretakers of patients and he also emphasized on the importance of ensuring patient safety and how careful and competent a pharmacy professional should become in providing quality services to the patient.
In a keynote address Dr. Manthan Janodia highlights the theme “why pharmacist needs for better health” and congratulated all the participants for being in the role of pharmacist for better community. In this event, Students displayed creative ideas in poster-making competitions and demonstrated their scientific enthusiasm in quiz competitions as well. This event was concluded by certificate distribution to all the winners & runners of several competitions held as part of National Pharmacy Week 2024. Finally vote of thanks was delivered to acknowledge and we truly thank the management, staff and all the students for making these celebrations a great success.
