Dr. Jugnu Jain Shares Insights on Research, Innovation and Biomedical Sciences Chittoor, September 22, 2026

The Apollo University, Chittoor, organised a guest lecture by Dr. Jugnu Jain, CEO, Sapien Biosciences, on September 22, 2026, at Lecture Hall 1, Admin Block. The programme was organised by the Directorate of Research, The Apollo University, under the leadership of Dr. Hima Bindu, Deputy Director, Directorate of Research, with the participation of faculty members, Ph.D. scholars, and UG and PG students of Biomedical Sciences. Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Vice Chancellor, The Apollo University, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Anil Kumar S., Registrar, The Apollo University, was the Guest of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Vice Chancellor, emphasised the importance of providing students and research scholars with opportunities to interact with eminent professionals and industry leaders. He highlighted the growing significance of biomedical sciences, research and innovation in advancing healthcare and encouraged students and scholars to make use of such academic interactions to broaden their knowledge, strengthen their research perspectives and explore emerging opportunities in the field. He also appreciated the Directorate of Research for organising initiatives that promote knowledge exchange and strengthen the University's engagement with the research and industry ecosystem.
Delivering the guest lecture, Dr. Jugnu Jain, CEO, Sapien Biosciences, shared her insights into the evolving landscape of biomedical sciences, biotechnology, translational research and industry-academia collaboration. She discussed the relevance of contemporary research in addressing healthcare challenges and highlighted the importance of scientific thinking, innovation, interdisciplinary approaches and translating research outcomes into meaningful applications.
The session provided Ph.D. scholars and UG/PG students with valuable exposure to current developments and emerging opportunities in biomedical sciences. Faculty members also gained insights into evolving research areas and the scope for strengthening academic and industry linkages. An interactive session enabled participants to engage with Dr. Jugnu Jain and seek insights into research, innovation, professional opportunities and the changing requirements of the biomedical sector.
