Leadership & Expertise

CDHPM is spearheaded by globally recognized leaders in healthcare and academia. The centre is led by two Co-Directors representing pioneers in both the collaborating nations, bringing together decades of experience in cardiology, healthcare informatics, and medical research.

Professor of Cardiology at University of Leicester and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist. Former Head of Department of Cardiovascular Sciences (2003-2016). Former Director of NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Unit (2009-2016). Medical Director of British Heart Foundation (2016-2023). Fellow of Academy of Medical Sciences. Recipient of McKenzie Medal and Gold Medal of European Society of Cardiology. Knighted for services to Medicine in 2015.

Co-Director | Apollo Hospitals Group
Chief Medical Information Officer and Vice President at Apollo Hospitals Group. Former Medical Director of Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata. Adjunct Faculty for Healthcare Analytics and Management at IIM Calcutta and IIT Kharagpur. Actively collaborates with MIT CSAIL, Microsoft, Google, World Economic Forum, ICMR, and Maastricht University on AI adoption in healthcare.
