Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow” – VC, The Apollo University

Chittoor, August 11, 2026: The Apollo University successfully conducted “Startup Idea – Digital Poster Presentation Competition 2026”, organised by the Department of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Sciences, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The competition provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, innovative thinking and ideas for solving real-world problems and developing future startups. A total of 74 digital posters were presented under three themes: Healthcare (28 posters), AI & Digital Technologies (26 posters), and Sustainability for Life (20 posters).
The programme was held under the guidance of Chief Patron Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Nagarkar, Honourable Vice Chancellor, The Apollo University. The Patrons of the programme were Prof. (Dr.) Alfred J. Augustine, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), and Mr. S. Anil Kumar, Registrar, The Apollo University. The event was organised by Dr. C. Sai Kalyani, IIC Member and Program Coordinator, Department of Biomedical Sciences, and Dr. Sudheer Kasa, Convener, IIC.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Nagarkar, Honourable Vice Chancellor, appreciated the innovative ideas presented by the students and encouraged them to think beyond conventional approaches. He emphasised the importance of transforming ideas into practical solutions, developing an entrepreneurial mindset and using innovation to address real-life challenges and contribute to society. He also encouraged students to confidently pursue their ideas and see themselves not only as future professionals but also as innovators, problem-solvers and entrepreneurs.
Prof. (Dr.) R. Satyanarayana, Head, Department of Biomedical Sciences, and Prof. (Dr.) Ramya Ramakrishnan, Dean, AIMSR, Chittoor, graced the occasion and encouraged students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship. Prof. (Dr.) D. Jagadeesan, Dean, School of Technology; and Dr. I. Ramaiah, Dean, School of Management, also graced the event, and distributed prizes to the nine winners. Their interaction with the students provided valuable encouragement and guidance.
The competition showcased the enthusiasm, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the students, while promoting a strong culture of innovation across The Apollo University. The programme concluded successfully with appreciation to all participating students, judges, faculty members and organisers for their valuable contribution in making the event a grand success.
