CHITTOOR: The Apollo University organized a grand farewell ceremony to honor its outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) H. Vinod Bhat, in recognition of his extraordinary leadership and invaluable contributions to the institution's foundational growth and development. Held at the Dr. Prathap C. Reddy Knowledge Centre Auditorium, the event brought together the university management, faculty members, administrative staff, students, corporate representatives, and distinguished guests to celebrate the remarkable legacy of a leader who laid the cornerstone for The Apollo University's academic excellence.
The program commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by a retrospective tribute highlighting Prof. (Dr.) Bhat's transformative journey over his tenure. As the Vice Chancellor, he played a pivotal role in establishing academic framework, promoting quality education, nurturing a healthy culture of research and innovation, strengthening institutional governance, and instilling core values of discipline, integrity, and student-centric learning. His visionary stewardship enabled the university to rapidly achieve recognition for academic distinction and emerge as a prominent player in higher education.
The milestone ceremony was graced by a gathering of leadership, including: Dr. Preetha Reddy, Hon’ble Chancellor, The Apollo University, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Vice Chancellor, The Apollo University, Mr. M. Shivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, CEO, Apollo Knowledge, Prof. (Dr.) Alfred J. Augustine, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), Mr. Anil Kumar S., Registrar and other leadership heads from Apollo and AKC Campus, HealthCare Academy and Corporate office. Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, students, and invited guests from and within Apollo were also in attendance, to indicate a collective appreciation for Prof. Bhat's exceptional service and enduring impact.

Speaking on behalf of Apollo Knowledge, Mr. M. Shivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran appreciated Prof. (Dr.) Bhat's integrity and values-driven leadership. A deeply moving highlight of the program was the screening of heartfelt video messages from the top leadership of the Apollo Group, including Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder Chairman Apollo Hospitals Group and Chancellor Emeritus, TAU Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals; and Dr. Ravi Raju, Pro Chancellor of The Apollo University. Their messages accounted Prof. Bhat's remarkable contributions to the landscape of higher education and acknowledged his masterful leadership in shaping The Apollo University's distinct identity and academic reputation.
A particularly moving highlight of the ceremony was the screening of a specially curated retrospective video presentation detailing Prof. (Dr.) Bhat’s landmark journey at the university, meticulously prepared by the Directorate of Press and Publications. The visual tribute beautifully chronicled his transition from the foundational days to the thriving academic hub the campus has become under his stewardship, capturing rare photographs, key milestones, and his warm, candid interactions across the campus. The deeply emotional montage served as a powerful testament to his transformative leadership and genuine human touch, bringing a collective wave of tears to everyone in the auditorium and drawing a poignant, standing ovation as it brought his years of dedication and quiet grace vividly to life.
In his farewell address, Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Bhat reflected on his memorable journey with the university, describing it as one of the most fulfilling phases of his professional life. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the management, faculty, staff, students, and all stakeholders for their unwavering support, trust, and collaboration throughout his tenure and declared that he will be guiding the leadership continuing as an advisor for AHERF. He encouraged the university community to continue striving for excellence and wished the institution continued success under its new leadership.
