COURSE OVERVIEW

A student of bsc in clinical psychology at The Apollo University

The Master of Science in Dialysis Therapy (M.Sc. Dialysis) is a specialized postgraduate program meticulously designed to cultivate advanced competencies in renal care and dialysis sciences. Grounded in a robust integration of biomedical sciences and clinical practice, the program equips students with comprehensive expertise in managing patients with acute and chronic kidney disorders.

The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning through intensive clinical exposure in hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and other extracorporeal therapies. It fosters critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and research acumen, enabling graduates to address complex nephrological challenges.

With a strong orientation towards technological proficiency, patient-centered care, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the program prepares graduates to emerge as proficient dialysis specialists, clinical researchers, and healthcare leaders in the evolving landscape of renal replacement therapy.

Programme Objectives

Upon successful completion of the Master’s program, students will have developed a broad understanding of the contribution of basic renal scientific mechanisms to clinical disorders of the excretory system. In particular, they will:

  • Understand how mechanisms operating at molecular, cellular, and system levels contribute to normal renal function and how their dysfunction leads to clinical disorders relevant to dialysis therapy

  • Acquire a good working knowledge of modern methods for scientific and clinical investigation of the renal system

  • Be aware of recent developments and advancements in clinical dialysis therapy

  • Develop the ability to pursue a successful career in advanced nephrology research and clinical practice

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS
