Chittoor, December 02: The three-day Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME), organized under the Medical Education Unit (MEU) at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (AIMSR), Chittoor, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm on Tuesday. Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Alfred J. Agustean, Dean of AIMSR, stated, “This is the third consecutive BCME program at our institute. Effective teaching skills are crucial for quality medical education. Through BCME, we aim to strengthen curriculum implementation, improve teaching methodologies, and enhance students’ conceptual clarity. Every medical teacher should make the most of this program.” Professor Dr. Ramya, who attended the program as an observer from the Nodal Centre, Vellore CMC, said, “Teaching methodologies are evolving rapidly. While every teacher may have a different teaching style, BCME is extremely useful in enhancing students’ understanding. This course is invaluable for academic research and career development.” The program saw participation from Associate Dean Dr. Ramya Ramakrishnan, faculty members, teachers, and MEU officials. Over the three days, participants will undergo training through interactive sessions, workshops, and group activities, designed to enrich their teaching competencies.
