School of Management Hosts International Lecture on “Healthcare Management”
"The Apollo University – The School of Management at The Apollo University successfully organized an enlightening International Lecture as part of its ongoing International Lecture Series on Healthcare Management. The lecture, held on 23rd July 2025, was centered on the theme of Medical Tourism and was attended by students and faculty members from the MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management program.
The distinguished speaker for the session was Dr. Lingala Kalyan Viswanath Reddy, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health, Saudi Electronic University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Reddy, a recognized academician and expert in global health systems, delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the dynamic landscape of medical tourism across the world.
In his address, Dr. Reddy explored the key drivers fueling the rapid growth of medical tourism, such as cost-effective treatments, advanced healthcare technologies, ease of international travel, and the increasing trust in healthcare services offered by emerging economies. He further emphasized the opportunities medical tourism presents for healthcare organizations, including revenue generation, global collaboration, capacity building, and brand expansion.
Dr. Reddy also encouraged students to understand the strategic importance of patient-centric care, accreditation, infrastructure, and policy support in building a globally competitive healthcare system. The interactive session provided an excellent platform for students to engage with real-world scenarios and trends in international healthcare delivery.
