Seminar on Autism Spectrum Disorder Day at The Apollo University

The Apollo University recently held a seminar on Autism Spectrum Disorder, presented by the esteemed speaker, Dr. Bhaskar Naidu. The event was attended by a diverse group of professionals, including Dr. Vandana Kaja from Clinical Psychology, Dr. Kabilan from Public Health, and Dr. G B Hima Bindu and Dr. Manju from the CSE department.
Dr. Naidu commenced the seminar with an insightful overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder, highlighting its impact on individuals and the various signs and symptoms associated with the condition. He elaborated on the communication difficulties, social deficits, sensory processing issues, and repetitive and restrictive behaviors commonly observed in those with autism. Dr. Naidu also discussed how individuals with autism express themselves and the ways in which they can be supported.
The seminar placed particular emphasis on the importance of early diagnosis of autism. Dr. Naidu shared his expertise on identifying the early signs of autism and the available interventions, including Applied Behavioral Analysis, Speech and Language Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. The audience gained an understanding of the various therapies and interventions that can benefit individuals with autism.
Dr. Naidu also provided information about the support available for families of individuals with autism. He discussed the crucial role of family members in providing support and the significance of early intervention in the success of therapies.
